Die dynamisch-mechanische Analyse (DMA) ist eine unentbehrliche Methode zur Bestimmung der viskoelastischen Eigenschaften, vorwiegend polymerer Werkstoffe. So sind Elastomere zum Beispiel unterhalb der Glasübergangstemperatur T g sehr steif und weisen einen hohen Elastizitätsmodul auf. Oberhalb der T g sind sie flexibel und dämpfend.
